Technovation for Good, made possible by Alex Lee, Inc. is a day and residential program for rising high school sophomores – seniors. The program will be administered by the Information Systems and Supply Chain Management department in the Bryan School of Business and Economics at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. It will provide the participants with hands-on, practical experience with Programming, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Mobile Application Development, Sustainability, Analytics and/or the Internet of Things. In addition, this program offers students an opportunity to learn entrepreneurial and leadership skill sets, hear from local professionals, meet other students with similar career interests, and attend workshops to enhance IT and business skills in a college setting.

The goal of this program is to provide an environment that promotes inclusiveness and educational equity. We encourage applications from diverse groups of students who will have equity in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education and opportunities. Thanks to our sponsor, need-based scholarships will be provided to ensure that students with financial need can participate in the program.

Technovation for Good participants engage in several activities off of UNCG’s campus. These may include events such as bowling, mini golf, hiking, and trips to other scenic locations near the Triad region. The program may also include travel to businesses that thrive on technology and interactions with business professionals in such settings.

Technovation for Good residential participants will experience residence life on a college campus firsthand while living in a residence hall for the two-week program. Qualified UNCG students will serve as resident counsellors and provide administrative support for the program. They will be present on the floors each night and continue as near-peer mentors during the day program.

UNCG Spartan Dining provides three meals daily, as the program director otherwise arranges. While on campus, students can access health services, the Library, and the necessary technology and tools to participate in projects and activities.
